Something completely new!
a preview for readers of Outgrow
Hello,
As many of you know, I’m an ex-IT and business strategist who now spends most of my time growing food, hiking, cycling, and thinking about the future — especially what a post-AI future might actually look like for ordinary lives.
Over the past year, one idea has started to pull a lot of those concerns into focus. I’m starting a new Substack to explore it: a bold but practical vision for a national network of Greenways — fast, green, beautiful, car-free corridors connecting towns and cities to the countryside.
Greenways are the lens, not the limit. Through them, I want to explore much bigger questions: work and meaning after AI, public luxury and personal sufficiency, local economies, biodiversity, health, and how we rebuild a sense of shared civic life without retreating from modernity.
You can subscribe to the newsletter and read the welcome page here:
It will help me a lot if you can take a look at this first few essays, and if they resonate, subscribe, like and/or comment on it, after that I won’t be asking for any more favours!
This won’t be a high frequency, weekly newsletter - like Outgrow - I’m more interested in building a coherent body of ideas over time. If you subscribe you will receive the first few essays I’ve written over the next month or so.
: all the best - Steve
